In the small town of Empangeni at Esikhaweni township (KZN), a seed was planted in the heart of a young girl named Ntombi. Despite the challenges and limitations that surrounded her, she believed in the transformative power of education. Little did she know that this belief would shape her life and inspire her to create a lasting impact on others.

Ntombi's journey is a testament to the extraordinary possibilities that education can unlock. Raised by a single mother, she witnessed first-hand the struggles and hardships that come with chronic poverty. Yet, she refused to let her circumstances define her. With unwavering determination, she embraced education as her ticket to a brighter future.

Through her relentless pursuit of knowledge and opportunity, Ntombi shattered the chains of poverty that once bound her. Her dedication led her to obtain a Master's in Business Leadership from Unisa Business School, a remarkable achievement that exemplifies her commitment to personal growth and empowerment.

But Ntombi's journey doesn't end there. She recognized that her success was not just meant for her own benefit. It became her mission to pay forward the gift of education and provide others with the same transformative opportunities she had received. Ntombi's personal experience has instilled in her an unshakeable conviction that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. She firmly believes that every child, regardless of their background, deserves the chance to rise above their circumstances and create a better future for themselves. As she always says, "we are here to help others", and through the Riseup Ntombi Foundation, she is doing just that.

Our vision is to reach out and change the lives of children in need, and our mission is to educate, empower, transform, create opportunities, possibility, and sustainability. Our values include hope, vitality, possibilities, partnerships, and loyalty, and we strive to embody these values in all that we do.

We focus on providing girls and boys at the primary school level with basic needs such as clean water, running toilets, uniform, shoes, internet, computers, and playgrounds to build them mentally. Our belief is that true change comes through education with understanding who you are as a person, where you come from, and where you see yourself. We organize mentors to expose the children to the realities of life that they have never been exposed to before, creating a better environment transforming from poverty to hope and opportunities for every child to receive a quality education in a conducive environment to learn.
